In collaboration with the Space Science Institute and Star_Net, Cornerstones will present at the ALA2018 Conference in New Orleans on Saturday June 23 2:30-3:30 PM.
Presentation Title: Tech-time Fun with Real-world Connections
Take advantage of current tech trends to draw in new audiences, from children to adults, while also making connections to real-world challenges and explorations. Explore free apps designed to bring NASA science and exploration to life, and try a script-writing activity that uses a Green Screen to transport young authors to other worlds. Give your existing tech spaces and programs real-world context and connect with local expertise using library-tested design challenges on sustainable energy and building a cleaner world.
Upon completion, participants will be able to use free, innovative STEM apps and resources that can help their libraries attract new audiences and partners, facilitate hands-on activities and interactive STEM programs that provide connections to the real world, and access and utilize free STAR_Net resources and STEM experts, including engineers and NASA scientists.
